Un geste d’amour, en sa mémoire

A gesture of love, in his memory

💜 In memory of my mother: a gesture that comes from the heart

There are moments in the life of an artist and entrepreneur that turn everything upside down.

Last May, I lost my mother.

A departure that is both gentle and cruel.
She had been living with Alzheimer's disease for the past 10 years, a discreet but very present reality in my daily life. I watched her slowly fade away, while remaining there, in her outpourings of love, her bright eyes, her tender gestures. Each of my visits was a gift for me, one more chance to hold her in my arms, to take her out, to entertain her, and to make her laugh.

This grief brought me back to the essentials:
the importance of slowing down, of choosing myself, of creating from the truth.
And above all, to continue to make meaningful gestures .

🎗️ A symbolic, deeply human commitment

It is therefore with great emotion that I announce to you that I will now donate part of the profits from Pero to the Alzheimer's Society .

For what?

Because this organization supports thousands of families like mine.
Because she works in the shadows, with compassion, to support, inform, and relieve.
And because helping, even a little bit, allows me to honor my mother's memory, through each piece that I create .

🖐️ Every order, a gesture that counts

Every time you choose a Pero creation – whether it's a personalized gift, a hand-painted mug, or an object bearing words – you contribute to this gesture of solidarity.

You help me transform grief into light.
To make love live differently.
And to support those living with this disease today.

In this photo from September 2024, my mother had a tiny memory while looking at my insulated glass in my hand and she was able to tell me: it's you who painted it! I can tell you how happy I was, my mother was also an artist, everything she touched turned into magic. She also helped me during the first years of my business to remove the labels on the products, clean them before cooking and even during a Christmas market at Central Pop in Drummondville

Thank you for being part of this process.
Thank you for reading me, for following me, for trusting me.

And thank you, with all my heart, for allowing my mother to live a little longer through my art!

Here is the last photo taken in April 2025, with our favorite flower. I am so proud to have helped fulfill one of my mother's great dreams, to take her to visit the famous Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands during our 3 years of living in this beautiful country!

With all my gratitude,
Sophie
